# Show only open markets

Hide closed-market rows across your layout with one filter, then bring them back without changing your lists or account totals.

![My Watchlist with Open only active. The list says No open markets in this list and offers Show all markets.](https://edge.etoro.com/_next/static/media/hero.1h-wpi85kd7ov.webp?dpl=69a6d367-680f-4f74-af13-4666bf21bb44)

## What it is

**Open only** hides assets whose markets are known to be closed from lists across Edge. Use it when your layout spans several markets and you want to focus on those currently open. One switch applies across your layouts.

The filter works in watchlists, the screener, positions and orders, price alerts, the one-click trading list, Discover’s trending assets and the ticker. You do not need to set it separately in each widget.

## How to use it

1. In an open desktop workspace, find the market count near the right end of the bottom status bar. The small funnel beside it is **Open only**. It is an icon, with no text label beside it.

2. Click the funnel to turn the filter on. Its background fills green and the market-status control glows. Lists hide assets in closed markets. If the filter empties your watchlist, it explains why and offers **Show all markets**.

3. Hover over the funnel to see how many closed-market rows are hidden and which widgets hide them. Click the market count to open **Market Hours**. The same breakdown appears beneath **Show open markets only**, whose switch controls the same filter.

4. Click the funnel again to turn the filter off. You can also turn off **Show open markets only** in **Market Hours**, or choose **Show all markets** in an emptied watchlist. Each turns it off across the workspace.

## Good to know

- The filter stays on when you switch layouts. Reloading the page turns it off; it is not a saved preference.
- Filtering changes the rows you see. It does not remove assets from your saved lists, close positions or cancel orders. Charts, the order ticket and account totals are unaffected.
- Hidden asset rows return as their markets open. If Edge has no known market status for an asset, its row stays visible.
- People and Smart Portfolios also leave filtered lists because they have no market to be open. The hidden count counts assets in closed markets, not those people or portfolios.
- Alt+M toggles the same filter (⌥M on Mac). You can use it while looking at a list, without opening **Market Hours**.

Screens are from a Demo account. The instruments and prices in them are illustrative.
