## What it is

A dynamic list is a list whose members are chosen by criteria, not by hand. You say what belongs on it, such as stocks with a dividend yield above 3%, and the column it ranks by. Edge ranks the list again every 30 seconds, so instruments join and leave it on their own, and its prices stay live in between.

Reach for one when what you follow is a rule rather than a fixed set of names: the largest companies, today's biggest gainers, or stocks near their 52-week lows.

A dynamic list is the same thing as a screen saved in the Screener. You can show it in the Watchlists, Market Heatmap and Events widgets. It is one list wherever it appears, so a change you save to it in Watchlists shows in the Screener and the other widgets too.

## How to use it

1. In a Watchlists widget, open the three-dot menu at the top right.

2. Choose **New dynamic list**. Tori opens, ready for you to describe the list. In a new conversation it also offers ideas to start from, such as **Dividend payers** and **Near 52-week lows**.

3. Describe the list in your own words, for example “US stocks with a dividend yield above 3%, largest first”, and send it. Tori turns it into criteria and a rank. The table shows the matching rows at once, and a card above the message box holds the proposal: a name, the rank and each criterion.

4. Change the name on the card if you like. **Edit criteria** opens the filter panel there, so you can change the criteria yourself.

5. Press **Create list**. Nothing is saved before that, and **Discard** drops the draft. The widget switches to your new list.

6. To set it all yourself, press **Build manually** in Tori's panel instead. Name the list, choose **Criteria…** to pick filters, then the column it ranks by and **Highest first** or **Lowest first**.

7. You can also start from the Screener: set the filters and the sort you want, click the bookmark at the top of the widget, name the list and press **Save**.

8. To show a list in the Market Heatmap or Events, pick it under **Yours** in the menu at the top right of the widget. Events hides that menu while it shows an instrument, a person or a Smart Portfolio from its link group.

## Good to know

- The criteria decide what is on a dynamic list, so it has no **+** button and its rows cannot be dragged into another order.
- The strip under the list's name shows its rank and criteria. On a list of yours, clicking it opens the editor, where you can change the name, the criteria and the rank.
- Under **Markets**, the list menu also has ready-made dynamic lists, such as **Mega cap** and **Top gainers today**. They cannot be changed: clicking one's strip offers to save a copy of your own.
- **Save as watchlist…**, the bookmark beside the refresh button, saves up to 100 of the list's instruments as an ordinary watchlist. It is a snapshot: it does not follow the criteria afterwards.
- When no criteria capture what you ask for, such as a theme, Tori curates a fixed set of companies instead. A chip on the strip shows the set, and clicking it lists the members. They do not change on their own, but their prices and rank stay live.
- **Changes**, in the widget's menu, records the instruments that enter and leave a list once you switch tracking on for it. It compares samples, so a move that comes and goes between two of them can be missed.

Screens are from a Demo account. The instruments and prices in them are illustrative.
